Judge Karahan was honored to sing the National Anthem at the Texas Asian Republican Club’s Annual Statesman of the Year Dinner, honoring Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar. Judge Karahan also led the attendees in America the Beautiful.
Judge Karahan was one of several panelists for Haven of Hope’s “Unity in the Community” outreach event, bringing together citizens, law enforcement, and judges to hear and discuss concerns about criminal justice and law enforcement relations with the community.
Judge Karahan was pleased to introduce the criminal justice system to Boy Scouts from the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences’ summer scouting program. Each Scout received a copy of the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and Judge Karahan answered many excellent questions.
Judge Karahan enjoyed an amazing evening of entertainment as he attended the Miss Chinatown Pageant which encourages young Chinese-American women to develop their interpersonal skills, talent, and goals through higher education. The contestants are goodwill ambassadors for the community and serve as role models for the next generation. The C.A.C.A. Judge Karahan was honored to speak as a judicial expert to attendees of the Texas Council on Family Violence’s 6th Annual Summit on Family Violence in Austin, Tx. Judge Karahan discused new legislation and other updates related to family violence law.
Judge Karahan was honored to join the Plant High School Reunion Choir as they sang the National Anthem for the Tampa Bay Storm vs. Orlando Predators arena football game.

Judge Karahan joined colleagues in Austin for the Texas Center for the Judiciary Criminal Justice Conference. Topics included forensic science updates, Criminal Court of Appeals and U.S. Supreme Court updates, and others.
Judge Karahan joined his Harris County Criminal Court colleagues for the Texas Center for the Judiciary Family Justice Conference in San Antonio Texas. Topics covered included admissibility of electronic evidence, forensic interviews, firearms and family violence, and new neuropsychological issues in domestic violence and treatment.
